Duncan Smith

Duncan has more than 30 years of legal, financial and investment experience in international markets.
He is well-known to both the corporate and private equity communities as both trusted entrepreneurial adviser and an investor, and has advised on and invested in deals ranging from large cross border acquisitions to smaller transactions.
In 2012 he established Marbury Investments to manage co-investment and private investment opportunities, and Marbury Corporate Advisory Services to provide corporate services, fund and enterprise solutions.
Duncan acts as a director and sits on investment committees to several asset management firms and trading businesses.

Stephen joined Marbury in 2014.
Stephen previously spent three decades practising as a leading M&A lawyer in Europe and Asia with one of the major international law firms. Working with the Marbury team, he assists corporate clients with their investment and divestment strategies, using not only his expertise gained as a lawyer but also his wide ranging experience as a commercial and pragmatic business adviser.
Since joining Marbury, Stephen has helped several Asian businesses on acquisitions, re-organisations and corporate finance matters. He has also acted for a European client as its interim General Counsel, guiding it through a EUR200m secondary buyout and re-financing.
When he can find time, Stephen is striving to maintain his golf handicap.

Vanisha joined Marbury in 2016, after 10 years as a corporate commercial lawyer with two leading international law firms in Hong Kong. Vanisha studied and qualified in the UK.
Vanisha’s experience covers banking and finance, capital markets, corporate restructuring and insolvencies; as well as assisting in the establishment and maintenance of BVI and Cayman Islands companies, funds and other vehicles.
As a Hong Kong native she brings a breadth of understanding and a distinct connection to the local business community.
Vanisha has the enviable honour of being a long-time active volunteer teacher to children with learning disabilities.

Chris has over 25 years’ experience in operations and project management, with a focus on communication, employee development and engagement, workflow and delivery.
Before joining Marbury in 2016, Chris was Head of Operations at a specialist provider of regulatory and compliance consulting services to financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific region responsible for managing the pipeline, new product launches and implementing best practice systems to improve communication, data retention and overall efficiency.
Prior to that Chris worked for a global corporate services provider where her responsibilities comprised managing compliance, including the client acceptance process, for entities based in China, Hong Kong and offshore.
A native Canadian, Chris lived in Beijing before relocating to Hong Kong in 2008.
